I played a tape and the image was fine, but I ran a cleaning tape just in case.
When the black bars appear on the screen when playing back there is dirt that needs to be moved across the heads. Often this clears up by running a tape in the deck. Fast forwarding can help clear the dirt faster. Tapes were probably played in the deck since the problem was first noticed which cleared it up by the time I checked. |
